Nurture Africa uses the ‘rights based’ approach to its work in Uganda, covering health, education, sustainable livelihoods, children’s rights and gender equality. The ultimate aim is to support even the most vulnerable children in order that they may grow and ultimately contribute to society in a meaningful way. In this video we meet Andrew, the first sponsored child to complete school and go on to third level education, and Sam, the first child to enter the HIV Community Care programme.
The footage of Sam spans three years, from the moment we met him with only a few months to live to him attending school and receiving nutrition and medication 2 years on. Andrew now also volunteers with Nurture Africa and works mainly with the education enablement officer and the other children on our education enablement project.
