Comhlámh Code of Good Practice for Volunteer Sending Agencies

Nurture Africa is a proud signatory to the Comhlámh Code of Good Practice for Volunteer Sending Agencies.

Comhlámh is the umbrella organisation for Volunteer Sending Agencies (VSA's) in Ireland who are fully committed to achieving

responsible and responsive overseas volunteer placements.

The "Code" is a set of standards for VSA's to strive towards achieving, which will assist with the facilitation of high quality,

strongly supported & positive overseas volunteering experiences.

It has been developed in close consultation with Irish VSA's, returned volunteers and with a range of partners that

host international volunteers.

Nurture Africa has attained "Comprehensive Compliance" to the code for our international volunteer programme.

The ethos of the Code of Good Practice is to ensure that overseas volunteering has a positive impact for the three main stakeholders:

  • The Volunteer

  • The Sending Agency

  • the Local Project and Community.

If you feel that Nurture Africa is not adhering to the CoGP in any way, please don't hesitate to contact Volunteer Coordinator Kevin Murphy.
