HIV Community Project
HIV-infected children are forgotten by today’s society. Without access to treatment, 4 of every 5 of these children will be dead by their 5th birthday (World Vision 2008). There are 190,000* HIV-infected children in Uganda. Only 27% of these children are currently getting the life-saving medication (Anti-Retroviral Medication) necessary to keep them alive.
Nurture Africa now provides lifesaving treatment and counselling support to these children and their HIV infected guardians. Without this lifesaving treatment most of these children would be dead.
Our target for 2013 is to provide anti-retroviral medication to 500 HIV infected children and their HIV+ guardians in Uganda.
